STAND STILL AND SEE

This was such a blessing.... Enjoy.

The Battle Is The Lord’s

…Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
2 Chronicles 20:15

When faced with a problem or challenge, we tend to ask ourselves, “What am going to do?” And well-meaning family members and friends will come along and ask, “What are yougoing to do?”

Jehoshaphat faced a multitude of enemies. But instead of focusing on what he would do, he prayed, “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (2 Chronicles 20:12)
When we turn our eyes to God, we will hear Him say, “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s… You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord…” (2 Chronicles 20:15, 17)
But standing still is the last thing we want to do when the enemy is coming against us. It is also the most difficult thing to do because we feel that we cannot just stand around and do nothing — we must try to save the situation. But God wants us to stand still and see Jesus our salvation fight for us.
So what do you do the next time you are faced with a battle and don’t know what to do? Jehoshaphat sent his singers to the front of the army to proclaim, “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:21) Some people will wonder, “Does that mean that I just sing and don’t do anything else when I have a problem?” No, that is not what I am saying.
Do what the situation requires, but don’t worry and don’t trust in what you do. Like Jehoshaphat, rest and trust in His mercy that endures forever. When you do that, God will turn your battlefield into the Valley of Berachah. Berachah means “blessings”. The children of Israel gave the battlefield this name because it took them three days to gather all the spoils of war! God turned their situation into a great blessing! (2 Chronicles 20:25–26)
Do you have a battle to fight? Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!
Thought For The Day
God wants us to stand still and see Jesus our salvation fight for us.

I'M A SHEEP

This email I got from one of my many subscriptions (without the sheep of cos. lol). It's a perfect focus for my next month study.... I'm inviting you to make it yours too...
LOL... at the title, got the concept from DNW. I laughed and laughed...
So....
I'm a sheep, following after the voice of the Spirit
I'm foolish for Jesus...
I'm a Murderer.... lol (murdering all this)
and all the other weird titles you can think of.

Whose Voice Do You Hear?
Today's Truth
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27, NIV).
lol @ this image oh
Friend to Friend
Dan and I had been married one year when we moved to Fort Worth, Texas, so Dan could attend seminary. I desperately wanted a teaching job, but none was available. Instead I was hired as a secretary in an insurance office. It was definitely not my idea of a dream job, but I had a plan. Every day, on my lunch hour, I call the school district's personnel office to ask, "Do you have a job or me yet?" After several weeks, a frustrated voice finally responded with the words I had been longing to hear. "Mary, will you teach anything anywhere?" she asked. Finally! I jumped at the job offer and made an appointment to visit my new classroom that afternoon. The principal escorted me up a flight of stairs, pointed to a door, and said, "That's your classroom. Good luck!" With a knowing smile, he turned and walked away...quickly.
Stepping into the classroom, I froze at the astonishing sight before me. Some children were jumping on desks while others crawled under tables, all screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Paper and food littered the floor. In the corner sat an obviously frazzled substitute teacher, who was desperately trying to gain control of her students...uh, make that mystudents. The classroom was in total chaos. My first thought was, "What have I gotten myself into?" The next few weeks certainly answered that question.
Each classroom was arranged in learning centers instead of desks. The students moved from center to center as they completed assignments, a plan that naturally invited noise. I learned that because of overcrowding, each teacher had been asked to select two children to form a new classroom...my classroom...and of course, each teacher had chosen his or her two most difficult students.
The first few weeks were a nightmarish battle for control. After losing my voice twice, my sister, Betty, a veteran first grade teacher, gave me some great advice. "The louder you are, the louder the children will be. If you want to get their attention, speak softly so they will have to be quiet in order to hear your voice." I put her advice into action the very next day. As the children entered the classroom, I greeted each one with a silent smile. In my hands was a brightly wrapped box. Curious, they asked, "What is that, Mrs. Southerland?" I merely smiled and said nothing until every student was quietly seated. "I have a new plan," I began. "Sometime during the day, I will call your name once. If you hear my voice, you may choose one prize from our new prize box. If you don't hear my voice, you will miss the opportunity to select a prize and I will call another student's name." It worked like a charm! In a matter of days, my students learned to listen for my voice above all others.
Stress comes when we allow the many voices in life to drown out the only voice that really matters, the voice of God. We can't obey every voice we hear. If we try, we will end up in total failure, carrying a heavy load we were never created to carry. Obedience to God is not a heavy load because we don't have to carry it alone. God's strength and power bear the burden of our obedience to Him. The more time we spend in God's Word and in prayer, the easier it will be to recognize His voice.
Let's Pray
Father, I come to You today, wanting and needing to hear Your voice. I am drowning in the expectations of others and am so confused about the next step I need to take. Please give me Your direction and the strength to follow Your plan for my life.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Now It's Your Turn
Read Psalm 32:8 (NLT) "The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." What comfort does this verse give you about God's plan for your life as opposed to your plans or the plans of others?
Read John 10:4 (NLT) "After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they recognize his voice." Notice that the shepherd walks ahead of his sheep, gently calling them to follow. What change do you need to make in your life so that you can look for God's hand at work and listen for His voice alone?
By faith, accept the truth that God is always at work in your life and thank Him for His steadfast provision. Look back over the last few days, weeks and months of your life. Now praise Him for the things He has done. Identify the "voices" that you tend to listen to instead of listening for the voice of God.

Book Review - Saving Grace

I decided to do a little bit of book reviewing and recommendation. Only books I like and I'm really excited about though. Will definitely read lots more and never get to review them.
Saving Grace-2005

As the only daughter of a successful businesswoman,

Grace has grown up with nothing but the best.
Through a chance encounter, she meets Mike,
a successful design artist who introduces her to a relationship
very different from her usual one-night-stands and affairs with married men.

I enjoyed reading this book and for me to say 'I like a book', it has to have a great ending (I'm big on *endings*). And I was happy with the way Saving Grace ended. I liked the way the Hero and Heroin connected and complimented each other, I liked Michael for his job, interests and the fact that he was a gadget person. Also while reading this book, I couldn't but think that the author was describing herself, she came through alot in this novel.
The book had a lot of reality in it, I never rolled my eyes once going, "get real please", you know, some books after you're done reading, you wonder if the people really existed on planet earth. More than half way through the book, I went to read the summary on the back cover only to discover that all the hyp behind was inconsistent with the story within and she was just getting into the summary behind at this point in the book (just wondering why). Sha, in the end it was a goodread and I recommend it for you'll.

Wondering K

I'm a fan of christian fiction and have read quiet a number. Even some secular title before I got saved ***you know, the ones***. I just say make I ask...
  • Fat people no de marry....? Big boned and chubby girls and pot bellied guys....
  • Poor people no the marry...? the girl or the guy the always get money oh... ah
  • People no the get spot or wrinkle and thanks to Dee Henderson and Lynette Eason, at least some fourty something year olds don the fall in-love the marry? Old people no the fall-in love the marry... lol
  • Wetin them mean, if you no get electric shock, breath stopping moments.... bla bla bla, you no dey in love....?
  • Na for only book people de meet angel or spirit play love... loooool
  • Abegi.... ah, dey too plenty...
  • Add to the list if you enjoy reading fiction

A FREE GIFT

Keith Moore

I love this man of God. I’ve learnt so much from him. Any time I’m studying along a certain line, all I have to do is go to His ministry web-site and get a message relating to my study ***for free*** I must add. He is the only preacher I know who’s ministry materials are free (messages, books etc) *pray tell if you know others* (I be nija babe abi… we like free things abi J).
Anyway, though Keith Moore’s messages are free to you and I, they *cost something* and actually have monetary equivalents… All materials are paid for by friends and partners of the ministry. Meaning all the work is done and the price is paid for us to get them for free.
Friends… that’s what Jesus Christ did for us. Salvation and all that we enjoy is not for free, it was paid for. ***Free to us, but cost to Jesus***. I believe the life we live in Christ will make more sense to us when we bear in heart the cost of it, We’ll beginning to value it more when we are conscious of the fact that…
He came that We may have the God life.. and that life more abundantly (John 10:10)
He was wondered for our transgression…. (Isaiah 53)
By His wounds we are healed
He saw the travail of His soul and is satisfied with us
He became poor that I through His poverty might become rich (2 cor 8:9)
We reign in life through Jesus Christ… (Rom 5:17)
And much more that He has done for us…

Indeed only He could do the things He did for us, and, because of His great Love for us. He loves us without restrain. I love Him too… more than words can say… I hope You do too.
To help me value this free gift more

Dear Lord,

Lord thank You for ….* and I prayed - Eph 1: 17-23*

In Jesus Name
Amen

Cloud of Witness

I was at the funeral service for Pst Akin of House on the Rock Abuja, who died in the June 3rd 2012 Dana plane crash. ( In the end I believe I was led there as I was supposed to be in my church service, but some how ended up there with a friend).
The service was called "songs of Hymns" and it was a really touching service, with many wet eyes. It was a tragic event that awakened me to the reality that people die everyday... by the minute all over the world [and others are born by the minute all over the world]. A plane crash was a way for some to pass-on.
***Death is a Spirit***
They sang songs that focused your thought on the fact that 'we'll all go to meet Jesus some day', and people that knew Pst Akin gave Tribute to him, including Pst Goodheart O. Ekweme. All that kept going through my head as I listened to people talk was... " Wao... He knew people... people knew him... but most significantly,  'he touched lifes'. He was a servant through and true. I didn't know him personally, never meet him, but this was my conclusion. He served God with a passion and it came through in the way he lived his life "with a passion".
It came to me, 'if I fall plum dead today, what would people say of me...'?

She ????????????????????????????????

She ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
She ...........................................................................................
She ---------------------------------------------------------------------
It comes right back to the people around you... my brother... my sister... the lifes we were able to affect and change for good. It's not about powers or authority or positions or SELF... It's about God and the people around you... the people around me. God never fought for the world (earth), His fight has always been for MAN... for YOU... for ME. God's fight has always been for us. If he's got us, He's got every thing. And if you've got God and you've got your neighbour, you've got everything.
Pst Akin and other believers have joined the 'Great Cloud of Witness' (Heb 12:1) cheering us on in this journey to be who God has designed for us to be. What would be said of you when, you turn your back and walk out a room?
But it's so simple....
God is all that matters. If we cross the line, are we joining that 'great cloud of witness' to cheer others on?

SPEAK LORD...

One time I needed direction in a certain area... and I sort Elyon’s face in the matter. I kept going, "speak Lord.".. What do I do about such and such, where do I go.... and on and on...
Well, He let me rant a while in my activity and when I got quiet for a bit... in my heart I heard

***Are you looking to God to speak so when the storms come –
[it doesn’t work out or something goes wrong]-, we can say...
“Lord, You told me to do this and look how it turned out” – accusing
 OR
Do we look to Him to speak knowing that His word is SURE and that the ABILITY and the ALL to do are lined-up in those words”.***

Needless to say, I repented and began to look to those words and they assured my heart. My brother... My Sister, it comes right back to God and His word.... ***THIS WORD IS ALIVE*** (John 6:68, 1:1).

And I prayed... I’m inviting you to pray with me also...

Dear Lord,
My God... The One I love.
I’m sorry if I came out accusing based on the things I see happening around me. Lord let your will be done... and when You lead me Abba, I’ll go knowing you have gone ahead of me and done all things well. I praise You for Your word is Yea and Amen and I believe.
In Jesus Name
Amen.

Maybe He spoke and it didn’t turn out as you hoped, maybe you even let the words slip in the storm, maybe its the stuff we see happening around us... The Word is alive... and is still working... Just believe, 'light will surely come'.

So much has been said on the tragedy we witnessed in our country... As for me, I speak life to Nigeria and I speak comfort ... the kind only God can give to the families of those involved.

31st Chain.
God is Love.

THE ONLY SIGN I NEED

Matthew 12:38-41(kjv)

…. Master, we would see a sign from thee.
But He answered and said unto them,
“An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign;
and there shall no sign be given to it,
But the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly;
so shall the son of man be three days
and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The men of Nineveh shall rise in
Judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:
Because they repented at the preaching of Jonas;
and, behold,
A greater than Jonas is here”…
See also… Mathew 16:2-4; Luke 11:29-32

All the sign we need is the Death… Burial… and Resurrection of Jesus Christ… We live the Victorious Life because of the Price He paid for us…
Glory to God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What ever it is you face... God has gone ahead of us and done all things well. As we pray into the next month lets bear this in mind.

Happy New Month.

HE IS WORKING

My New best Song ( I'm a music person and love songs in seasons)... so this is the new catch. I like this song because there are a lot of cross roads now and future determining decisions I have to make and I'm tempted to go by feelings and what my eyes can see, and men's calculations.... but have done God so much that now He is the one doing me... (does that make any sense)... that I can't but ask His will in it all.. I'll do what He wants me to do...
Every time I pray... You would think I'll have a hot flash and just like that, I'll wake-up with every thing I need to do downloaded in my brain... but all I keep hearing in my heart is..
*** I'VE GONE AHEAD OF YOU AND DONE ALL THINGS WELL***
(which is His answer to everything in this season for me I must say)
Then I REMEMBER that He thought me to trust and scriptures like water-falls rush into my mind...
Proverbs 3:4-5
Romans 8:28
Psalms 23, 91...
Isaiah 40:1-2
 and words like
*He is leading me and stirring me in the right direction. I'm set in the course that I must follow...*
*He is good and Faithful and He has done me well..*
* He turned it for our good*
* Concerning everything in my life...IT IS DONE*
and much more (...professions...)
I leave shouting, not necessarily knowing my next move (many times I do know the next move though), but above all I'm assured in my heart that by His spirits leading ***I'll do the right thing***

Today;
I challenge you to ***TRUST*** Him... You ask Elyon WHY? all the time... but when it comes right down to it we didn't or don't really trust him to carry us....
And I ask you to pray with me....

Dear Lord,
You said in your word... (Isaiah 26:3-4 kjv) that You'll keep us in perfect peace as our mind's are stayed on You... Thank You for Perfect Peace... for Knowing Lord... thank You because in the future we'll look back on these days and know that your Grace was available to us in Your Spirit and we did the right thing... the right thing being *those things which You want and have designed to be...* Thank You Daddy... You hear me and all that prayed this and You answered Lord.
In Jesus Name...
Amen.

31st Chain,
Your Word is Truth...
John 17:17.

Ps: You are all invited to pray with me. :)

SMOKED OUT OF HIDING

So... I got my answer long ago, very typical of the Lord to tell you the end from the beginning and let you trust Him the rest of the way. Well I was busy... and kept giving that excuse until I became plain lazy... So I’m sorry you’ll.
I got 30 followers.... thank you’ll for believing in me and I got tagged by DammyJewel... for the 11 things.... thank you....
I’ll answer for the 11 things first then you’ll have to come back for the story on the reconstruction process, right after I'm done with this some exam oh...
Here we go...

Rules

  1.    Post the rules.
  2.   Post 11 things about yourself
  3.   Answer the questions by your tagger
  4.  Create 11 questions and tag another 11 to answer them
  5.   Note: no tag backs and also notify the people you tagged
  6. Let your tagger know you answered their questions.

  1.    I love to read... I’m partial to books, the smell, the fell and everything about it. If you walk in a room and see a pile of books by the bed stand or somewhere around the bed, that’d be me. I’ll typically read and fall asleep on the book.
  2.    I like cars and gadgets and have crazy friends that do too.
  3.  I’d rather be by myself, but also like to jist and make a lot of loud noise.
  4.    I’m a servant and term player. You’ll always find me following up on tasks rather than coming up with one of my own. I like to serve; it’s a blessing many people are yet to key into.
  5.  I love to pray... yeap, anyhow whether loud or quiet or just spending time with others in the presence of my God, I love it and even get teased by a friend of my for it.
  6.  I look younger than my age. And often get the ‘really...’ look when I tell my age (don’t be alarmed I’m not that old).
  7.  I’m not your typical tom-boy but not girly girl either... I think I’m somewhere in the middle.
  8.  Unlike  DammyJewel ... I’d rather mathematics than English... Kai whoever passed English in school sef? And yeap I’d rather pidgin than proper English. Lol.
  9.   I love music... It lifts my spirit any day any time.
  10.  I dislike dull conversations, kai... 'if some people talk today; you go just de wonder'...*very dull*, mschew... Please give me some intelligent talk abeg.
  11.  My brother’s are dear to me... all 4 of them. We don’t PDA (publically display affection) a lot, but we have a strong bond...

So... all done... this is harder than it looks. And it’s me on paper no fake jist.

Ok... Now to answering  DammyJewel ’s questions
1.        Money or love ..which would you choose? Love… God is love
2.       If you had the chance would you change your career, if yes to what? No… I like accounting a lot. I like seeing the N5 I used to buy akara translated into paper and how it goes all the way to its effect on the economy.

4.      Favorite color? Sky blue
5.        Craziest thing you ever done? I had a guy write his name, phone number and email on paper for me cos I didn’t want to give him mine and couldn’t hold back the laughter, so I laugh at him to his hearing. I’ve never seen him since, probably won’t recognize him now when I see him. *evil grin* not my craziest, but then again, I’m not the doing crazy stuff type.
6.       If you could become a genius right now in what field would it be and why? … I really don’t know, I just want to be who God has designed for me to be.
7.       What did you have for lunch? Skipped lunch just had a bottle of coke.
8.       If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Nothing oh…
9.       .If you could make a change in the world right now, what decree would you pass? Kai… Just go anywhere you want to go and live anywhere you want to live mhen…. But unfortunately Land aka territory is almost equally to blood to us humans…. So…
10.    If you could trade places with any celebrity right now, who would it be? Cece Winas… lol
11.     What gift do you want for your next birthday? (you never know who might be reading...*lol*) abi… an I something… phone, pod, pad…..
